One other way you could write decimals is in word form. Which is just writing out the number in word form.
How to write out Decimals
If you had the number 0.12 that is how you would write it out in standard form. To write it in word form it would be twelve hundreths. The way you decide how to write a decimal out is in this case there is no whole number in the ones place, so lets use 35.378. So if you look at the last number which is in the thousandths you would say it is thirty- five and three hundred seventy- six thousandths( for more info on this look at page 103 in txtbk).So basically you write it out how you would say it. To write it in expanded form you write out the number as a sum of the products of each digit and it's place value. The way to do this is by this: If the # is 54.0008 You look at the tens the whole # is 50 so it would be: (5 multiplied by 10). And if you did the whole problum it woud look like this: (5 multiplied by 10) +(4 times1)+ (0times 0.1)and so forth.

This does mean there are numbers less than one, so if you look at the columns that are full, there are two FULL which means it is equal to 0.11. ( look at the chart up at the top of the page)
